Spencer Kulick was born in South Dakota and grew up in New York City and has been in practice in San Luis Obispo since 1976. His undergraduate education was at the University of Michigan graduating in 1965 with a B.S. degree. He graduated from the State University of New York with an MD degree in 1969. Dr. Kulick completed training in Internal Medicine at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City followed by one year of Cardiology Fellowship at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in NYC. Following a two-year tour of duty as a Major in the US Army Medical Corps, serving in Korea and at Fort Ord, training in cardiovascular disease was competed at the UCSF/SF VA Hospital in 1976. Dr. Kulick is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular disease. As the oldest physician member of Coastal Cardiology, Dr. Kulick's practice is now primarily office based, although hospital privileges are still maintained. He has a special interest in the management of congestive heart failure (CHF) with emphasis on patient teaching and education. Dr. Kulick lives in rural Arroyo Grande and his interests include competitive target shooting, a home machine shop and SCUBA diving.
